Aaron and I had a quick stop at our Haven House this morning. Our house and some neighbors' needed the grass cut badly before we got tagged for blight!
While Aaron was out mowing, I did a quick walk through of the house and stopped under my favorite spot: down the back stairs into the kitchen. There's a verse written there that says “walk in a way that is worthy of the calling you have received”. We have this verse above our steps at our house also- a reminder to us that everyday as we start our day we are called to act and live in a way that is consistent with what we are all called to do with our lives.
I caught a quick glimpse in my mind’s eye and heart of our house finished with women living in it. Sometimes it seems so far away, and other days, like today, it seems a breath away before our house is full of women. The moment was an encouragement to me, and I want to pass that on. Whatever it is that you are called to: from seemingly small to bigger than you know what to do with- walk well into it. Take a step and then another as you move in a way that’s consistent and life-giving to whatever you are called to do.
